The donation was made by XRHealth, with the assistance of the Government Hospitals Division’s Innovation Unit as part of Hillel Yaffe’s innovation and research efforts. Today for the medical center’s Mental Health Division received practical training about their operation and possibilities for therapy with the headsets, which will be put into use in the coming days.

The VR headset kit includes various apps designed to calm and alleviate stress. The headsets are used independently, with the guidance and assistance of professionals in the Mental Health Division. The treatment will be given in addition to the routine treatment in the division's clinics as well as to inpatients and wounded from the war zones and to provide relief to staff members who need it.

Hillel Yaffe Medical Center’s Innovation and Research Director, Dr. Sharon Rashi-Elkeles, said, “During this difficult time following the events of October 7th, Hillel Yaffe Medical Center is working to integrate innovative technologies to make treatment of the wounded, people suffering from anxiety and staff members who are dealing with this reality easier. The VR headsets will enable us to provide a few minutes of virtual calm and ease for those who want to escape their difficult reality for a little bit.”
