Last week, Hillel Yaffe Medical Center was awarded JCI accreditation - one of the world's strictest medical quality and safety standards. Accreditation was earned after a meticulous survey was conducted by JCI representatives, who came from the US and inspected every nook and cranny in the hospital for close to a week - from hospital policies, work processes, medical records, personnel records and infection control, to maintenance of medical equipment, floors, walls, signage and more.

Preparation for the survey took several years and required the support of all medical center employees. It was fair, intense and flawless, despite the complexity of the process and the difficult requirements to comply with the strict international standard, while continuing with the overloaded routine work of the hospital.

During the final session conducted by the JCI surveyors, they noted how impressed they were with the unprecedented work being done by the hospital staff - their professional conduct, strong motivation and teamwork, which was decisive in the decision to award accreditation.

Dr. Mickey Dudkiewicz, Director General of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, said, "Today is a very exciting day for all of us. This is an honor for all of the over 2,000 people who work at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, day in and day out, hour after hour, who made a tremendous effort and have inspired us all with their work to provide an optimal response to patients and their families, while implementing all of the control and improvement processes. Receiving accreditation demonstrates that even when an outside party comes to perform such a meticulous inspection, the bottom line is evident to them as well - we love what we do; we are good at what we do, and the dedication, commitment and sense of belonging are deeply instilled in all of us. Every single hospital employee works hard consistently, and every single patient receives the very best we have to offer - in terms of quality and safety of care, and the professional and multidisciplinary service. I would like to thank all of the employees for their hard work, commitment to the organization and love for their fellow man. We are proud of our organization. We invest in it and in our patients, and now we have accreditation that attests to that."

On stage, during the summary provided by the JCI surveyors, Dr. Dudkiewicz thanked those who led the accreditation process - team leaders in all of the professions - medicine, nursing, paramedical, administration and housekeeping. He added, "I had no doubt that we would meet this challenge. We did it, and it's a great honor for us all. Thank you."
