Last Wednesday, for the third year in a row, the Ministry of Health issued its National Quality Indicators Report for the Israeli health care system. As in the past, this year Hillel Yaffe Medical Center also demonstrated strong compliance with the indicators, in some cases even achieved outstanding scores.

This happy news follows in the footsteps of the important achievement of being awarded international accreditation for quality and safety in health care by Joint Commission International (JCI), just one week prior to publication of the report.

This year, the Ministry of Health examined additional indicators, such as performance of heart catheterization within 90 minutes of arrival at the hospital when required. For this indicator, Hillel Yaffe Medical Center earned a score of 90%, while the national target was 85%. The hospital also received high scores for other indicators such as surgery for hip fractures within 48 hours of arrival at the hospital, administration of antibiotics after colorectal surgery, cesarean section and hysterectomy, performance of a brain CT or MRI on stroke patients within 39 minutes of arrival to the emergency room, and more. All in all, the hospital met the targets for eight of the ten indicators examined. With respect to the other two indicators, it presented results that were very close to the target.

These impressive scores place Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, this year again, among Israel's most outstanding hospitals.

Hillel Yaffe Medical Center. Outstanding hospital

This week, the hospital celebrated this important achievement as well. Dr. Mickey Dudkiewicz, Director of the Medical Center, noted that the data published by the Ministry of Health regarding the quality indicators show that Hillel Yaffe is clearly not resting on its laurels. "We are working on all fronts to improve the quality of care, be it at the professional level, technology level or at the level of infrastructure and accommodations. We take great pride in seeing our efforts recognized at the national and international levels. We also never forget that all of this work is founded upon patient-centric approach."
