Donating with Love

Tamar Shur (12), from Zichron Yaakov, celebrated her bat mitzvah on Saturday. To mark the event, her family decided that each of her friends and relatives would do something special with Tamar.

Dana Talmi Shwartz, a family friend, decided to get Tamar involved with a volunteer project. Tamar decided that she wanted to help sick children. She and her friends prepared a selection of cookies and lemonade which they sold to passers-by in the Zichron Yaakov pedestrian mall. The children raised NIS 750 which they used to purchase dozens of gifts for children hospitalized at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center. Last week, Tamar arrived at the Pediatrics Department at Hillel Yaffe with a pile of toys and gifts.

Note that Hillel Yaffe recently set up a designated gift room to enable every child hospitalized in the department to choose a gift of their choice. Tamar’s gifts were also added to the collection, and the children, of course, will be able to enjoy them.
