Administering the second dose of the coronavirus vaccine has begun at Hillel Yaffe

Three weeks after the first day of the coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine project, today, January 10, 2021, administration of the second dose of the vaccine has begun at Hillel Yaffe as required
11/01/2021

Around 60% of all the Medical Center’s employees have already received the first dose, and are expected to receive the second dose in the next few days. To mark the continuation of the historic occasion, each person vaccinated received a gift of a mug and bracelet inscribed with the words “I was vaccinated against coronavirus”.

At the same time, the hospital has two departments for patients with confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19), which are currently full. As of today, there are 58 patients hospitalized there, including 31 in serious condition, 5 of whom are on ventilators, 16 in moderate condition, and the rest in mild condition.

Director of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center Dr. Mickey Dudkiewicz: “We are advancing on two planes to wipe out coronavirus – on both the preventative and treatment planes. I am happy with the large-scale response by our staff to vaccinate, while also being worried at the same time about the rise in the number of patients and the severity of their sickness in our coronavirus departments. We are about to open a new department for treating COVID patients, and that means we are closing an internal medicine department and there is a further rise in the overload on the internal medicine departments. I call on the public to continue keeping to the rules of social distancing, wearing masks, and personal hygiene, and of course, to get vaccinated. I hope that if we work in this way, we will soon be able to return to normal life.”
