Description

The Cardio-Oncology Clinic is a combined clinic created to respond to oncology patients with previous heart issues or problems that have arisen during or after the oncological disease, due to complications from treatment or in parallel. The treatment at the clinic is provided prior to chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy.

The combined approach makes it possible to identify and treat heart complications early, while providing more comprehensive oncological care. This approach has already been found to improve morbidity and even life expectancy around the world.

Consulting is provided before and/or during oncological treatment - depending on the nature of the problem (follow-up of potential side effects or adverse events such as MI or other issues during treatment).

The clinic has been operated for close to one year by a senior team of physicians from the Oncology Unit and Heart Institute.
