An exciting and happy morning in Orthopedics B Department at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center. The department staff saluted, clapped and cheered in song and dance for the couple, Ben Binyamin and Gali Segal, who were wounded in the barbaric attack at the music festival in Re’im and left the hospital for continued rehabilitation at Sheba Medical Center. The staff who treated them with incredible devotion throughout their hospital stay alongside employees from other departments and members of HYMC management hugged them and were moved to tears to have gotten to this magic moment.
Gali and Ben both lost their right legs on that Saturday and were hospitalized at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, in beds placed next to each other, in Orthopedics B. “Throughout their hospital stay, the staff cared for them with such dedication and embraced them and us with such amazing warmth,” said Gali's mother, Orly Gidron. “Starting with the Head Nurse, Milana Abramov and her staff, and the Nursing Supervisor, Sara Badash, who responded to any of their or our requests - big or small, to Dr. Nurit Shadmi and Dr. Maxim Gorvitch, who came and encouraged us and were always optimistic each time they went in or came out of the operating room, and the physical and occupational therapy staff and everyone who worked, examined and searched for appropriate solutions to make things easier for us. The staff made us feel we were in good hands, just like a real warm family. I wish for any parent whose children live through what my daughter and her fiancé did to receive such professional and loving care.”
Gali also asked that I thank everyone for her and Ben for the very warm embrace they received from everyone at Hillel Yaffe, who became part of their family.
